This center is clean, and friendly. The site can work on its confidentiality, I shouldn’t have heard so much of another client's case. Also my intake would have been completed in the main space. The entry way can also be improved. They already have a two door system so the first set of doors can house a front desk.
I am 24 so the services they were able to give were limited. The staff person told me I am eligible to be in the space, eat, computer access and access overnight drop-in services in 3 day intervals per every two weeks. While there the case manager was referring a client to a DropIn center in Manhattan. But let the client know they have a TIL that will house them for 2 years but not emergency housing.
The center did not seem heavily used. Staff do not let people enter the building easily. The staff desk area is also shared with the main space so staff are always present.
The space does not seem like it’s heavily used. The staff cleaned seating areas when clients were done using it.
The staff was welcoming. I was offered food and something to drink right away. The only critique is they didn’t have a welcoming entry area, the staff asked me what I was there for before letting me inside. If I wanted to be confidential, that wouldn’t have been an option.
The bathroom was gender neutral. I was not asked my pronouns.
